Nature
Oostvaardersplassen
A large marsh area with reed beds, rugged grasslands, ponds, surrounded by forests: a true bird paradise of international value. Those are the Oostvaardersplassen, part of National Park Nieuw Land.
Lelystad Nature Park
In Natuurpark Lelystad (371 ha large) special animals live in a natural environment. You can come face to face with a European bison, wild boar, red deer, Przewalski horse or even a moose.
Markerwadden
Marker Wadden is a major project that will provide nature restoration of the Markermeer. A natural paradise for fish and birds and a wonderful recreational island.
Bird watching
Did you know that our area is great for bird watching? From Hawfinches to the Barn Swallow, you can find all sorts of things. Just bring the binoculars and spot it!
