Museum Batavialand
On January 1, 1986, the new province of Flevoland, the largest land reclamation project ever, was added to the Netherlands. Where once there was only water, you will now find beautiful nature, culture and places of interest. In Batavialand, museum and heritage center of Flevoland, you will discover everything about the unique genesis of Flevoland. Batavialand brings to life our struggle against the water - the reclamations and dike construction.
The Batavia Shipyard
At De Werf in Batavialand you will be taken into the world of historic shipbuilding, crafts and the Golden Age. Step aboard the famous reconstruction of the VOC return ship the Batavia. On the quay people work hard to keep this ship in good condition. Volunteers tell the most wonderful stories about sailors' life, the VOC and customs on board. You really imagine yourself in another time.
